Version 0.3.92

Get Context.

One download, sign in, and your first 30 minutes are free. Nothing to configure and nothing joins your meetings.

Setup

Four things, then it's running.

  1. Step one

    Install it

Download the build for your platform and open it. Context puts an icon in the menu bar or tray and stays there. It updates itself in the background.

  2. Step two

Signing in starts your first 30 minutes, free, and gives the app something to count against. There are no API keys to find, paste or rotate.

  3. Step three

Grant what you want it to see

macOS will ask for screen recording and microphone access the first time you use those features. Clipboard and file capture need nothing.

  4. Step four

    Start a thread

Name it after the thing you're working on. Everything you copy and capture from then on lands in it until you switch. Pick a role and it reads the thread the way that job reads it.

Requirements

What it needs from your machine.

Operating system
macOS 12 or later, or Windows 10 and 11 on x64.
An account
Signing in is what starts your free 30 minutes and lets usage be counted against a plan. No provider accounts, and no keys of your own to manage.
Permissions
Screen recording for screenshots, microphone for recording, and on macOS a bundled helper for capturing the other side of a call. Each is only asked for when you first use it.
Disk
The database is small; recordings and screenshots are what grow. Both live in your user folder where you can see them.
Network
Needed while a call is being transcribed and coached, and for update checks. Capturing clipboard, screenshots and files works with the network off.
